Cigar Pairing: Casa Carrillo Encore

I vaguely remember saying that we were looking for the perfect pairing... but how to choose! Another winner from @casacarrillocigars that pairs beautifully with New Dawn's 10-year Wheated whiskey. And oh the flavors! Don't take my word for it, get you a bottle and a stick and try it yourself!

For Juneteenth we were treated to a magical pairing with Casa Carrillo's Encore El Primero cigar. Rich and bold but so very smooth my first take on the Encore was notes of a dark chocolate, hazelnuts, and just the barest hints of leather like your favorite leather coat. For such a mild first draw, as you really get into her the Encore offers up more prominent chocolate notes and plays up the clove, nutmeg, and allspice from New Dawn's whiskey with just a touch of sweetness.

I'm absolutely love with this cigar paired with the 10 year wheated who becomes a delicate lady, all citrus and apricot with subtle hints of honey, with this medium bodied cigar. It's just such a rich combination, that tastes like the most decadent dessert. As you get into the final third beautifully toasted walnuts come through and with the wheated it's giving walnut cake or better yet baklava buttery and rich. Don't miss out on this pairing!
